OVER 60s NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & CARNIVALS
O60s Group Contact : Spencer Woolley
Under the leadership of Geoff Anyon, 14 Tasmanians represented the state at the very first “Championships” in Canberra in 2006. Our numbers reached their peak in 2011 when we sent four teams away but with the later separation of the Over 70s this has since become three. The state’s best result was to tie for the Div 1 title at Armidale in 2011 when the final was washed out. That year saw 7 Tasmanians selected in Australian teams that played against England in home and away series.
In 2018, under John Bailey’s captaincy, we won three of our four games, remarkably all by a single run, to finish 3rd with three players gaining national selection.
THE 2023 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL BE HELD IN PERTH FROM NOV 12 - 16.
